A presentation featuring a late 19th-century Meissen porcelain model of a Bolognese Terrier and the painting A King Charles Spaniel in a Landscape by George Stubbs (1724–1806).
This will be accompanied by a lecture from John David Rhodes (Professor of Film Studies and Visual Culture at the University of Cambridge) and Elena Gorfinkel (film scholar and critic) on their new book, The Prop, which explores the role of film props. What are film props? What do they do? Their book answers these questions through a close examination of the material objects that help construct cinematic worlds.
The conversation will be in English. Free entry, but capacity is limited. Please RSVP at info@ilfa.services
